Common Error Fixes

• Disable NVIDIA GameCapture / AMD ReLive

• Cap FPS to 120 or lower

• Lower graphics settings (shadows + post-processing)

• Disable other overlays (Discord, GeForce, Xbox Game Bar)

Loader closes while loading

• Generate a new loader and place it in its own folder

• Reinstall NVIDIA App (NVIDIA users)

• Reinstall Overwolf (AMD users)

• Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributables

• Reinstall DirectX End-User Runtime

• Disable Discord and Steam from launching at startup → Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), go to the "Startup" tab, right-click Discord and Steam, and choose "Disable"

• Restart your PC and try loading again

NVIDIA — Failed to enable overlay

• Open NVIDIA App

• Disable overlay → Re-enable overlay

• Restart the game

Radeon — Menu not showing

• Open Overwolf → Overlay & Hotkeys

• Enable Rust overlay

EAC Blocking — Acronis conflict

Fix options:

• Stop Acronis services in services.msc

• OR disable driver via admin CMD

• OR uninstall Acronis tools (if unused)

Menu is not clickable

Check admin permissions:

• Open Task Manager → Details tab

• Check Elevated status

If Rust is elevated:

• Disable “Run as Administrator” on RustClient.exe

If explorer.exe is elevated:

• Restart Explorer without admin rights

If unresolved:

• Reinstall DirectX Runtime

• Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributables

• Restart PC

NVIDIA — Menu appears behind game

• Toggle NVIDIA Overlay off → on

• Restart the game

Game is crashing

• Open Steam → Right-click Rust → Manage → Browse Local Files.

• In the game directory, delete GameAssembly.dll and UnityPlayer.dll.

• Go back to Steam → Right-click Rust → Properties → Installed Files → click Verify integrity of game files.

• Once verification finishes, launch the game again.
